It was fine until the end :(

Pros:
Good starter apartment
Right across from the Q and M15 bus
Good water pressure and water could take a while but always got hot
Good storage built ins, closets
Back side of apartment is fairly quiet besides occasional ambulance.
Cons:
Only got to stay here for one year, I always paid rent on time and thought of myself as a good tenant but landlord gave me a notice that my lease will not be renewed without reason.
Asked if my partner could move in with me for the next lease period and landlord acted like I was overstepping and had never heard of this question before.
One cockroach sighting :( (I know not major for a nyc apt but still scary)
Living room gets minimal natural light, dark no matter time of day
No oven or dishwasher
Kitchen is not updated
Packages sometimes not delivered when you're not physically there to let them in
When I moved in last August I was told I could move in after 1pm, I arrived around 4pm and painter was still there finishing things up, had to keep my cat in the bathroom for the day.
Gets quite cold in bedroom in the winter, windows don't have good insulation.
Advice to owner:
If you're going to kick out your tenants after a year please have a valid reason so they're not surprised.

Spacious but lacking

Pros:
Lots of room in the studios, good light, and great closet space.
Cons:
Everything is old or outdated, windows are extremely drafty (room gets down to 58 degrees in the winter) and the landlord does not pay for heat or hot water.
Advice to owner:
Update the windows or pay for heat and hot water.
