Creepy and disruptive neighbors. Little maintenance done to apartments inside Disgusting old hallway carpet that has never had a proper wash

It's fine. It's not good.

Pros

The rent is affordable (for NYC). The location is superb.

Cons

The building is not well maintained. It's a battle getting the landlord/super to fix anything and when they do it's not done well. Every apartment has issues with water leaks. The walls are paper thin. If your next door neighbor snores, you will know. If they sneeze, you can say "god bless you." Luckily, 98% of the neighbors are lovely. We're all in this together, after all.
