Cheap rent but at what cost?

Pros:
Rent is relatively cheap for Manhattan
Cons:
The building is dirty, lots of cockroaches with little pest management. The unit I live in needs a serious update.

Pest in the building. Poor garbage management. The Super doesn’t like to do his job.

Nothing . Don't head here. Consider this your warning.
Cons:
Everything. Bedbugs, No hot water , leaks, noisy neighbors , you name it, they have it. Property manager is untrustworthy and a liar and will try to harass you for money when she has made 0 effort to fix issues in the apartment. Can't wait to leave.

Cheap, but not worth it
Cons:
I have had a roach infestation for two months, nothing has been done. I have been literally harassed by Kym (the super) and his wife (Shirae). They have made comments on my clothes and weight as I’m just trying to run to the grocery store. The place is disgusting

Pros:
Good location, cheap rent.
Cons:
Maintenance is a joke. Every week there's something wrong- the boiler, the front door lock, the garbage. The building itself isn't well maintained, and it's clear that the owner doesn't care about the people living there. Hot water has been off for days at a time for no discernable reason.
Advice to owner:
Hire a competent super. Invest in your building.

Cheap Price, literally nothing else.
Cons:
The super and his wife are horrible. Will literally harass you and fail to fix anything.
Advice to owner:
New super who actually cleans the hallways.
