The doormen and staff at the package room are all super helpful, kind, and very easy to talk to. The neighbors are really really kind too!
1. Unresponsive building management The management team was not very responsive. Before moving in, I tried to contact them to coordinate logistics with my moving company, but I received no response. They have an office in the building, so you basically have to go there in person to get anything done. It's 2026, and I really don't understand why communication still has to be this difficult. 2. Your experience depends heavily on the landlord I rented a condo, so your experience really depends on the individual landlord. Unfortunately, you don't get to know what the landlord will be like until you've signed the lease and moved in (and of course, the housing agent only tells you the positive things). Communication with my landlord has been very stressful. I've had plumbing issues since day one: the bathtub drains extremely slowly. I reported the problem immediately, but it took multiple texts and emails—and me mentioning that I would file a 311 complaint if she didn't take any actions—before she finally arranged for people to come in around mid-September. The first person who came was extremely unprofessional. He stood at the back of the bathtub. The water almost reached his feet in just a few minutes. He said he didn't see a problem, and even told me I should appreciate the apartment because his own place was worse. More professional plumbers came afterward and replaced the tub spout. The problem seemed to be resolved for about 2–3 weeks (it was still below average, but acceptable), but then the spout started leaking again, causing water to accumulate in the bathtub. When I contacted the landlord about getting it fixed, her response was simply “ugh,” then no response again. For a studio at this price point, having a properly functioning shower is a pretty basic expectation. I shouldn't have to repeatedly chase my landlord just to get an essential plumbing issue addressed.
