Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 5 West 101 Street emphasize its excellent location near public transit, Central Park, shops, and Columbia University, appealing to convenience seekers. Tenants value the building's cleanliness, responsive maintenance—especially via an easy-to-use app—and features like in-unit appliances and pest control. Quiet surroundings and friendly neighbors are often noted. However, challenges include inconsistent garbage management with trash and rats reported outside, small apartment sizes, occasional noise disturbances, and a lack of in-building laundry for some units. Management responsiveness receives mixed feedback, with some finding solutions timely while others call for better problem resolution beyond maintenance fixes.
