Great for students
Pros
Close to school and a ton of restaurants, as well as subway Superintendent responsive on issues Great south facing windows
Cons
Ventilation not the best for stovetop Appliances a little old
Family-Business Landlord who really looks out for student tenants
Pros
Mark is a wonderful landlord who is often seen around the building helping out and available. For students moving into their first NYC apartment, this is a good first step with other Columbia students as neighbors and an attentive landlord right off campus. Free laundry in the building is also an amazing pro. On the same street as a Columbia dorm, so campus security patrol our block as well. I lived there for 3 years and never saw a mouse. I saw 3 cockroaches in 3 years. Pretty good stats...
Cons
It is an old building. Old appliances, in many cases very worn or dirty from years of use. Worth looking unit by unit to make sure it is up to your standards. It's not a dealbreaker for everyone, but you should know going in.
