6D (2C and 6E) owners were malicious landlords - building good!
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is lovely. Pre-war, lots of character — which extended to parts of the unit we spent 7 years in (6D). Good community of neighbors. Pet friendly, and generally well maintained. New elevator, new gas line…floors recently refinished, and walls regularly painted. Pointing on bricks recently re-done.
Cons:
Owners of our unit (6D) were largely negligent, avoidant, chose not to fix major issues. Aggressive when we had problems. The only real issue with our time living there! We loved the building at large.
Advice to owner:
To the owners of unit 6D (also own 2C and 6E): If there is an issue with major electrics, fix it without complaining or telling us that you “didn’t meant to become landlords”. If the fridge breaks in one of your properties, don’t yell at me down the phone to say I’m being disrespectful because your suggestion of a replacement was a major downgrade. If termites infest one of the rooms, deal with the issue quickly. Don’t avoid dealing with it (or tell me to find my own exterminator) for months — allowing for the swarms of pests to get worse. Most of all, don’t play victim all the time…especially when YOU made the investment, and drew up the terms in which we would live safely and happily in your property. Bad people.
