Good space, but roaches & poor amenities
Pros
I loved the size of my apartment, it's really pretty spacious with high ceilings and both bedrooms are equally sized and can easily fit queens. The rent is also low in comparison to a lot of other places. There's lots of beautiful pre-war details, like chair rail in the bedrooms and hardwood floors.
Cons
It's just poorly maintained. At first I didn't have a roach problem and then the owners switched out my old fridge that wasn't working for a used one that was infested with roaches, which wasn't dealt with. When I moved in, the previous tenants' furniture was still there, so I my roommate and I had to move it all out on our own. We ended up getting a small credit to our rent from the owners for the state of the apartment, but it didn't feel like enough. We also had no amenities. Some apartments in the building have dishwashers (ours didn't) and there's no laundry either in unit or in the building.
charming and a little rundown
Pros
Pre-war charm, nice and responsive super, landlord is just one guy with one building as far as I know, and he's pretty reasonable.
Cons
Kind of dingy, landlord special on the paint jobs, packages get stolen occasionally
