Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews for 55 John Street highlight mixed experiences. While some appreciate the affordable student housing, events to meet people, and good location, others complain about maintenance delays, noise levels, and outdated amenities. Issues with pests, water pressure, and heating have been raised by multiple reviewers. While some suggest improvements like better responsiveness from management and cleaner heating systems, the building seems to cater well to students and individuals seeking short-term summer housing. Overall, the consensus leans towards recommending the building for its value and amenities despite room for improvement in certain areas.

cheap student housing but terrible living conditions
Former Tenant
Pros:
- cheap student housing and mine was all-expenses paid corporate housing - lots of young people living over the summer + events hosted by staff to meet people - in building laundry - elevator - communal kitchen on top floor
Cons:
- my fridge kept defrosting even though it was plugged in and my groceries would spoil - contacted support and nothing happened - also developed a long-term cough due to mold or something in the air, which support never addressed or fixed - ac broke
