Renters approve of the building's owners
The building is clean enough (no pests!); elevator; clean laundry room in basement; comfortable apartments; quiet for the most part; plenty of heat in winter; friendly/kind neighbors. The highlight is the large courtyard with seating, tables, trees, and flowers - a gem in the middle of Harlem.
Some rowdy visitors; sometimes the building doors don't lock properly and there have been thefts of packages in the building.
Riverton is a set of old buildings but there are newer, renovated apartments. The building service crew is nice, the grounds are well maintained, there is laundry in the building, and a new package holding area. There is also a tenant association that holds several events a year, senior center, community garden for the kids as well as a playground and basketball court.
The NYC roaches, people are stealing packages now, close to Harlem Hospital so a lot of ambulance noise, and sometimes noisy neighbors.
The hallways could be kept cleaner and there can be so more pest control.
