It’s All Relative
Pros
Fantastic super. Responsive landlord who is fair reasonable and honest. This is the landlord’s business - lots of buildings - and he does the best he can.
Cons
Why for a building that was built in 1910 with a seven year old boiler do we lose heat and or hot water at least once every two weeks during the winter months? I don’t understand that. Also so many of my friends pay their rent electronically. We can’t do that. We are still mailing checks. The big advancement now is that we get an email with the invoice.
Advice to the owners
Sometimes things in public spaces go unrepaired or unaddressed for a while. Are super manages may be a dozen buildings. He can’t touch everything. It would be nice if our super had some help to get to these things in a more timely way.
My Super makes it all worthwhile
Pros
This is a small walk up building with only 10 residential units. One by one people of left and now it’s down to two of us who are being purchased out of our rent stabilized leases. Historically the buildings pretty clean, the super fantastic, and our landlord is a fair decent man.
Cons
In a perfect world they’d be an elevator and at least laundry on premises. There’s not. The whole laundry thing has really gotten the best of me.
Advice to the owners
None. He was a person who operates above the line. If you’re honest and upfront so is he. I’ve never had a problem with him. Not a harsh word not a problem that wasn’t South not an issue in the slightest.
