It’s that little village feel in the east village
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazingly centrally located, right on the subway, quiet and very large apartment for NYC; rent controlled and reasonably priced. Had communal feeling and especially great for young families. Surrounded by a lot of green.
Cons:
Building rather unappealing from the outside, some neighbors are oddballs, water issues for a few hours every few months (though well communicated and handled)
Advice to owner:
More responsiveness around winter tempartures issues and better long term handling of the water pressure issues

Cons:

Decent pre war building
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Neighborhood is quite if you are not at the periphery - Green space - Close to union square
Cons:
- paper thin walls. You can hear your neighbors from all sides/upstairs - old AC units, bad heating management
Advice to owner:
Properly insulate your building (climate and sound)

Solid, clean building.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Low rent for a decent amount of space. Large bedrooms. Free wifi/ utilities for the first year.
Cons:
Drains constantly clogging. Odd neighbors. Very much so a "college campus" feel in stuy town. Living room is a decent amount of space but feels more like a hallway than a living room.

Stuy Town apartments
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very clean and responsive management to work requests. Neighbors are nice and complex feels generally safe. Mostly pros of living here. Also, gave back security deposit at end of lease easily with no hassles.
Cons:
Worst thing was the noise levels. Although management was responsive to noise complaints, still heard banging all day from neighbors upstairs. Also, DO NOT rent a unit above one of their cafes! The cafe (stuy town owned, located right under residents units) played music loudly outdoors almost all day even though many residents were working from home during covid, took multiple calls for them to turn it down and not have top 40 hits blasting through the window every day while trying to work/take exams.

Nice affordable apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
The price is affordable, most utilities included and building is generally clean
Cons:
Noise level is okay but can hear the neighbors’ dog
