It's not worth the price
Pros
The only thing great are the finishes, and only if you have the renovated unit, as well as the neighborhood.
Cons
Very little to no communication with the building management team. This complex is cockroach infested, most likely from all the unhygienic people who lives here. Elevators seems to be unmaintained for a long time. The thru-wall air conditioning units are inefficient and will eat up your electricity bill to an absurd amount; close to $350! The exhaust in the kitchen area is blowing warm unconditioned air, not satisfying building code to extract warm air, moisture, and odor. The only exhaust that is actually working is in the bathroom, and so I have to leave the bathroom door open at all times. Because of this, especially during the hot tempered months, I have the use the A/C to feel somewhat comfortable in my living space. It's truly a glorified social housing complex with merely cosmetic work. Overall, you're only paying for the neighborhood.
Advice to the owners
Hire competent/qualified staff to manage this complex.
Management ruins it- stay far away, slumlords
Pros
Opportunity to live on Roosevelt Island for much less than other buildings (if you’re in an affordable unit at least). Dog friendly
Cons
IThe absolute WORST property management- C&C Apartment Management’s incompetence and carelessness knows no bounds. If you were to look up “slumlord” in the dictionary, the C&C Management logo would be the example used. What’s not to love? The cold, brown water filling up your bathtub after a long day; having a heat stroke in your apartment even though you run the AC 24/7 because the entire property’s electrical wiring was done incorrectly?
Advice to the owners
Follow housing laws and hire staff with more than half a brain cell- especially for your leasing renewal department
