Beautiful building but with mouse problem and irresponsible landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful, historic building. High ceilings, great light, great location, lovely neighbors
Cons:
The landlord is letting this building fall apart to the point that there are safety concerns (mice both in my unit and the foyer and had to reach out several times before a professional was sent out; chandelier in the foyer looks like it could fall from the ceiling at any second; a marble tile fell from my bathroom wall when I closed the door; etc.). There is also a significant amount of deferred maintenance that has not been addressed for over 2 years (holes in the walls of the common areas, broken floor tiles, etc.). For the price that you pay to live in this building, it’s unfortunate to see how poorly it’s taken care of.
Advice to owner:
The building is really a gem but is not being properly taken care of. When tenants report things, it is in your best interest to take their concerns seriously.
