Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent renters of 39 West 33 Street praise its attentive, friendly doormen and management, clean and well-maintained apartments, and a range of amenities including a rooftop and gym. The central location near Herald Square and the Empire State Building offers excellent transit access and city views, albeit with some street noise due to high foot traffic. While heating and aging AC units occasionally draw complaints, pest control is reliably handled with no significant issues. Some tenants note the need for interior upgrades and more consistent management fairness, but overall, residents value the building's responsiveness, cleanliness, and vibrant neighborhood setting.

Great building and management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Doormen are amazing, affordable units worth the price, great rooftop view and amenities, responsive management, fix issues fast. All in all a really amazing building
Cons:
Right by Herald square and the Empire State Building so can be a bit noisy of a neighborhood with lots of foot traffic (but nothing against the building or management)

Great building, highly recommend
Former Tenant
Pros:
Fantastic staff, very friendly! I love living here
Cons:
The heating / cooling is a bit annoying - you can't just set it to a certain temperature. You can turn it on or off, and stronger or weaker. But you have to guess what setting will be okay.
