Great location, but poorly maintained apartment
Pros
Great amount of space for an NYC apartment in a very convenient location, and surrounded by beautiful historic Harlem brownstones. Large bedrooms both with space for a queen-sized bed, dresser, and desk, each with a large closet. Large living space with room for a dining set up and separate living room space. Great counter and cabinet space in the kitchen.
Cons
Have been dealing with a rodent issue for weeks, with little support from our landlord and continue to find eaten food and mouse droppings around the apartment. Before we moved in, the apartment was just swept and surface level wiped down by our landlord and we had to hire a cleaning service ourselves to clean thick levels of grime on kitchen appliances and in the bathroom We had many plumbing issues when we first moved in. The pipe under the kitchen sink was fully rusted through and crumbled to dust within a couple weeks of us moving in. The bathtub also flooded before we even used it and the pipes had to be cleared out. There is a 2 year construction project happening across the street that is very noisy early in the mornings on weekdays as well as a construction project in the next door apartment. We knew this when we moved in and usually get up early anyway, but it can make it hard to work from home sometimes. We’ve had some power and electric issues including flickering lights in the bathroom, occasional power outages, and one time an outlet fully blowing sparks and needing to be completely replaced.
