Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 515 West 36 Street praise its modern construction, scenic views, helpful doormen, and generally clean common areas with good water pressure. The building benefits from attentive staff like superintendents and concierge teams. However, persistent and intense construction around the building, expected to last until 2029, causes significant noise disturbances, heavily detracting from tenant comfort. Several renters report management's slow response to maintenance issues and dissatisfaction with continual rent increases despite the ongoing discomfort. Noise inside units and occasional pest worries are minor complaints. Overall, prospective tenants should weigh the attractive amenities against prolonged noise and management challenges.

NON STOP CONSTRUCTION - STAY AWAY
Former Tenant
Pros:
The views are unbeatable. The doormen are all great. Unfortunately that’s where it ends.
Cons:
Non stop construction noise right next to building. There is drilling/banging/construction noise non stop, 7 am-7pm 6 days a week. They also have a few days a week where they work overnight into the morning resulting in 36 hrs of non stop construction noise. It is unbearable. Not scheduled to be completed until 2029.
Our lease is up next month and we can’t wait to leave. There are so many vacant apartments and despite this the landlord is still raising the rent (like he has each of the 5 years I’ve been here).
Please, if you cherish peace and quiet and your sanity, you will stay away from this building.
Advice to owner:
Stop raising rent. Treat your tenants with more respect and less like a burden to you.

Avoid for Next 4 Years
Former Tenant
Pros:
Relatively new building, great views
Cons:
Ongoing construction projects on 3 sides of the building make non-stop noise 6 days a week. It is maddening and only getting worse. Construction will continue until 2029
