such a beautiful building
Former Tenant
Pros:
brand new, condo furnishings, latch key system, amazing rooftop and gym, nice elevators
Cons:
no doorman (for the rent we paid a doorman would have been appropriate), semi unsafe area, packages constantly stolen, the heat/AC broke down a lot but was easily fixed, also not a lot of communication - never met the super, was very removed

Beautiful building, terrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Brand new building. Very clean and spacious
Cons:
Terrible management. Cannot get in touch with anyone for anything. They do not care about their tenants

Beautiful Building, Horrible Company
Former Tenant
Pros:
This is a new building with state of the art amenities (when they actually work). The hallways and public area are sleek and impressive looking, and the apartments themselves are set up well. We hardly ever heard our neighbors. Also, the Handyman is SO NICE! (The Superintendent is not, but his assistant was always so responsive and kind. Truly made our experience here better)
Cons:
Where to begin - the leasing company that runs Stella should be ashamed of themselves. They could care less about their clients (the residents) and handle correspondence poorly, do not prioritize safety, and single-handedly made this place an apartment that we will only tolerate for one year. Woe to those who re-sign after they experience Stella Management! We experienced water leaking from our bathroom light, multiple instances where people broke into the lobby to steal packages (because management will not give delivery persons proper access to our secure package room), and constant construction that was not given fair warning. The management is combative and frankly rude. Don't expect them to clean the windows for a few years either, they will speak to you as if that was a ridiculous question to ask, even though the apartments are decked with ceiling to floor windows. I've dealt with my fair share of landlords, but this group has been the worst to experience by far!
Advice to owner:
You are in the business of management where people LIVE - if you cannot provide a safe, fair, kind environment to live in, then this isn't the industry for you. Get a doorman or at least some sort of security, because I've never heard of this many packages being stolen in any other building in Manhattan. Your CUSTOMER-facing employees need training in customer service. You had every opportunity to make East Village an even better neighborhood to live in, and you failed; please do better.

Stella LES review
Former Tenant
Pros:
Units are well layed out for the most part, nice appliances (2 bedroom with full sized fridge!)
Cons:
Ever since we moved in almost a year ago there has been CONSTANT construction. When we have asked the building management company what the issues being worked on are we get inconsistent answers or the answer is some cosmetic issue that not a single resident has ever noticed. We have had larger issues such as water leaking from a light above our bath, added charges for HVAC use above and beyond our separate PG&E payments that we were not notified about- 6 months of retroactive charges simply showed up on our February rent bills building-wide. The communication from management is terrible, and this sentiment is shared by almost every single resident of this building.
Advice to owner:
Do not rush to move people into overpriced apartments during a pandemic when everyone is working from home only to innundate us with constant noise daily during work hours from the moment we move in.
