Advice to owner:
I’ve been living here since I was 10...I’m 28 now. Move in was April 2003 (app is allowing me to select that year). Housing is hard to contact, you can put in a million tickets for a problem and still no one will show up. One year, our stove just stopped working (two days before Thanksgiving by the way), this was reported..no one showed up to give us a new one. We ended up just buying pizza. We were then given a hot plate TWO MONTHS LATER. We decided to just buy our own stove. The roach issue is ridiculous. We have to keep screens in the windows especially in the summer time because of them. I can’t even count the number of times housing came to fix something and ended up breaking our PERSONAL property. I had a pipe leaking in my room for months. Housing came and opened the wall. This happened in March 2020. I kept smelling cat - but it wasn’t cat, it was the smell of asbestos and I have asthma. There has been a GIGANTIC hole in my wall from top to bottom and about 10-15 inches wide. I had water, sewage, and POOP leaking out the pipe onto my bedroom floor and closet for an entire month. Every single day and night, literal crap and waste leaking from the pipe. Housing did not come not once to remove anything. Plumbers finally came and fixed the pipe but from March (this is October) I STILL have this gigantic hole in my wall. The water damage really ruined the floor, I ended up pulling up the tiles and buying vinyl flooring. It also ruined my $300 desk. Cabinets are never replaced when they are supposed to be and are put in incorrectly. This led to mouse infestation. I’m talking about 20 mice on the top of the fridge eating sweet potatoes - an actual nest when a cabinet was removed. There is no reason we should even pay rent and let’s not get into the consistent mold in the bathroom where there are not only young children in this house, but two people with a lung disease.
