Decent building, terrible landlord

Pros:
Responsive super, close to train
Cons:
Flimsy appliances, terrible paint job, “bars” on windows were not even secured and were just propped up against the window, “security cameras” were not operating. Heating was poor and inconsistent in winter—sometimes way too hot and sometimes very cold. Snow was never cleared in front of the building. It was obvious that the landlord was doing the bare minimum. Landlord did not return entire deposit and did not provide reasons why.
Advice to owner:
Try doing more than the bare minimum and treating your tenants like human beings and not like cash cows
