Abusive and unresponsive landlord- Josephine Gassner

Pros:
Nice neighborhood/ location.
Cons:
Terminated lease due to unresponsive and abusive landlord (Josephine Gassner). Gassner does not maintain the building or apartment.
Infractions included: lack of heat in the winter (heat was only restored when the housing department was engaged), cockroaches, foul smell from her many pets, broken fridge for 7+ weeks, broken toilet for 2+ weeks, missing floor tiles, mold in the bathroom etc. When repairs are required, the landlord takes weeks to respond and becomes verbally abusive when contacted. Landlord also entered apartment with no warning or permission on numerous occasions. Previous tenants ultimately took Gassner to housing court due infractions and her withholding their security deposit.
TLDR: While the location/neighborhood are great, the abusive landlord makes for a very uncomfortable living situation- don't recommend signing a lease here.
