Pathetic Helpless Management
Pros
Great location near subway
Cons
Once you move in you might as well not exist to management. They do not answer emails or the phone and there is often no super to call when something goes wrong. And believe me things will go wrong. The unit I lived in had an issue that caused the door of the apartment to lock from the INSIDE with no way out. Obviously an insanely dangerous fire/safety hazard. This happened multiple times and the super would come and screw around with the lock, but wouldn’t fix anything. This happened once on a weekend and nobody was around to answer a call. No super to get in touch with, nobody at the office to get in touch with. I called the super several times and the only response I got was 9 hours later telling me to go f*** myself. (Seriously- I have the texts showing this) If there was a fire or medical emergency it’s not an exaggeration to say I would’ve died. Also the heat and hot water just went out randomly for several hours in the winter on more than once occasion. Shai is a helpless, rude, and unprofessional property manager who only fixed this when I finally said I would report it to the fire department. Mary takes usually a full week to answer emails (this is funny because when you call the office and it goes to voicemail, which it always does, they say the best way to reach them is by email). When she does answer l, don’t expect it to be helpful. The former owner of Beach Lane Management was literally a criminal (google Mitch Rothken) The apartment was lovely, but you couldn’t pay me to live in another property managed by these clowns. Do not live in any beach lane management property.
Advice to the owners
Answer emails and phone calls and actually fix problems.
