Good Neighborhood Bad Landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is very conveniently located by 3 different train lines. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood with everything you need at your fingertips and the rent is very cheap.
Cons:
This building has a major pest issue and the landlord is extremely unresponsive. The chain in our toilet had broken, there was a large crack in the wall and the heat had turned on in the middle of summer; when we reached out the landlord insisted all of these issues were “our own fault”. We also had a roach infestation which was “our own fault” despite keeping our kitchen extremely clean. When we challenged her to find any filth in the kitchen she made us mop the ceiling. She continued to insist we were the only unit who had a pest issue. This was untrue as we spoke to the tenants across the hall who had the same problem. All in all, great building and location but awful landlord.
