Fine Apt with Sh*t Management
Pros
The space itself is fine. A two bedroom apartment with a shared bathroom, kitchen, and dining space that allows for privacy when wanted and communal time when wanted. Wood floors and large windows on the front bedroom.
Cons
The management team at this building is atrocious. We viewed a listing that had many “bait and switch” elements. (Ex: “rooftop access” that turned out to not accessible, “pet friendly” which wasn’t true, etc.) We worked with a broker who perpetuated these lies from the listing and who failed to do the basic parts of his job (Ex: ever give us a signed copy of the lease). The landlord, Ahmed, is basically non communicative. He took no covid precautions or sent out any kind of communication about the covid crisis to residents. We had to reach out to him multiple times about each step of the moving out process. I even had to let in prospective new tenants and give them tours of the apartment myself, after we had vacated the place, because his communication and work with his new (and still shi*ty) broker was inept. Of course we then had to hassle him about our security deposit, which was returned way after the NYC 14 day policy, and had ridiculous claims about repairs that “needed to be made”. I would not recommend this apartment to a friend solely because living here means working with Ahmed Saad and the “183 Realty LLC” team
Advice to the owners
Communicate with your tenants. Be an honest person. Take a good long look in the mirror.
