Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews depict polarizing opinions about 575 3rd Street, Brooklyn. While some appreciate the building's cleanliness, efficient garbage management, and friendly neighbors, others lament heating inconsistencies, poor communication, and substantial rent hikes under new management. Residents praise the location and neighborhood but express concerns over vermin issues, unreliable heating, elevator malfunctions, and inadequate garbage disposal. The consensus leans towards dissatisfaction with the current management's questionable decisions and lack of responsiveness to tenant issues. Potential renters are advised to scrutinize carefully before committing due to the mixed feedback regarding living conditions and management practices.
Fenix Living is the worst. Beware entering into any contract with them. Current owner bought in 2022 and installed Fenix as management company. They spent all sort of money on "improvements" like ridiculous common area signs that no one cares about. Or laundry machines that don't actually work. Or a bike room with half as many spaces as units that you're only allowed to access by leaving the building. They fired the live in super and rented their unit and now building cleanliness is terrible. The elevator looks like a crime scene. You cannot rely on heat, even in the dead of winter. There are many days when the heat just won't turn on. They did install solar panels on the roof so the owner gets a tax write off though. And when they did that work they caused multiple apartments to flood! All apartments have high lead levels. They raise rent as much as possible every year. Mice and roach problems throughout the building. Trash piles up weekly. Windows are so poor you can hear someone whispering on the street outside. Fenix will also tell tenants to put trash somewhere that's behind a locked door. It's a joke. If you see the names Fenix Living, Tina Begum, Richard Contreras, or Marla Siegel run for the hills.
Advice to owner:
Do better or charge less.
