It’s charming and has cute features like wood flooring, tin ceilings, clawfoot tub. Location is unbeatable. I’ve only seen one bug in my year+ time here. Pretty spacious.
Cons:
NOISE NOISE NOISE. The commercial tenant below plays music 14-16 hours a day, everyday. You can feel the bass in the floors in the bedroom and living room. They are unresponsive as well as the landlords on this issue. The landlord basically doesn’t manage the property at all. Which is fine most of the time, but our heat went out during the coldest days of winter and they did not respond or fix the heat for multiple days. There is no emergency phone number. The office is not reachable except for three days a week. Office manager is rude and unhelpful. You can hear the upstairs neighbors walking around everyday, and there is not really any sound insulation. The windows are not secured properly and let in drafts. The water has leaked from the ceiling in the bathroom before, some of the walls are swelling with water but haven’t burst yet. The doors have had locking issues, and they have tried and failed to fix the lock multiple times.
Advice to owner:
Being a landlord is a job. And a very easy one. Please do your job and be reachable by your tenants to fix issues. If you don’t want to spend the money to fix a broken building then sell it.
