Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews reveal mixed opinions about 592 Vanderbilt Avenue in Brooklyn. While the prime location and apartment size receive praise, the building's age and noisy neighbor gatherings are concerns. Management responsiveness varies, with slow maintenance and occasional pest issues being drawbacks. Some tenants appreciate the quiet environment and good neighbors, but others criticize management's negligence and selective promptness in addressing issues. Suggestions include improving cleanliness, maintenance efficiency, and tenant communication. Despite some positives, like the location and water pressure, renters emphasize the need for better management practices to enhance overall living experience.

Great location, old building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing location, great food and drink spots. Apartment size is good. Usually responsive to requests.
Cons:
An old building. Neighbours always hang directly outside the building in large groups. Incredibly loud and inconvenient. Only one way in and out the building.
Advice to owner:
Clean up the building.

Avoid at all costs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location right on Vanderbilt, relatively quiet neighbors (at least in comparison to buildings I lived in when I lived in Manhattan.)
Cons:
Not surprisingly, management will drag their feet forever on any fixes (including dangerous ones) unless a 311 report is submitted. At the same time if they’re interested in making a change, surprise, they do it quickly whether you agree or not. I’ve lived in NYC for 11 years and this management company is one of the worst for what you pay for.
Advice to owner:
People paying you rent are doing so in exchange for the apartment and the building management. Generally, it’s not a great business practice to treat the people paying you money as if they’re annoyances to be managed. At least pretend to care about what your tenants actually need.
