Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 1045 Union St, Brooklyn, reflect a mixed experience for renters. The building benefits from a prime location near restaurants, subways, and parks, with spacious and renovated apartments and generally friendly neighbors. Cleanliness and garbage management are considered decent, and water pressure and heating are mostly reliable. However, persistent issues include flooding on lower floors, pest infestations, noise especially from nearby streets, and package theft. Management is frequently described as unresponsive, inflexible, and difficult to contact, with several complaints about poor communication and security deposit delays. Rent prices are high with little room for negotiation. Prospective renters should weigh location perks against management and maintenance concerns.

Great Area, First Floor Floods
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great area and near great restaurants and subway stop. Super is really nice and helpful.
Cons:
First floor can flood if it’s raining hard. Flood is caused by backflow of toilets and drains. Management team says there’s nothing they can do to really fix it.
Advice to owner:
Find a real fix for the flooding

Okay as long as nothing goes wrong
Former Tenant
Pros:
Wide staircase. Clean. Good garbage/recycling disposal. No pest problems. Good exterminator and maintenance workers.
Cons:
Mostly, this building is in good shape, but if you need something, management definitely gives you a runaround. You have to be pretty dogged to pin them down. Plus, pretty inflexible; for example, no negotiation on lease length or amount
