Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 281 Crown Street reveal a mixed tenant experience. The building benefits from a convenient location near public transit and a well-maintained lobby with daily garbage management. Many tenants praise the building superintendent for responsiveness and kindness, contributing to a supportive community among residents. However, persistent issues include slow hot water, pest problems (particularly cockroaches), intermittent heating difficulties, and occasional noise disturbances from neighbors or construction. Water pressure and landlord responsiveness receive low marks, with complaints of management overcharging and delayed communication. While some appreciate the quiet, soundproof units, others feel the building lacks safety and adequate upkeep. Rent stabilization status varies across units.

Hood Apartment Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is near the train and above a laundromat (there are no W/D in this building), garbage is managed daily.
Cons:
The building shakes from a tenant working out so the structure does not feel safe. It takes 20 minutes to get hot water, if at all. Neighbors were allowed to conduct loud construction projects in their unit disturbing other tenants with no notice. There are roaches.
Advice to owner:
