Apartment is pretty, landlord is a total jerk
Pros
Apartment is cute with nice old details. Love the backyard space. Never had a major pest problem - saw one mouse in 2.5 years of living there and nothing else beyond some rats in the backyard.
Cons
- Building is poorly maintained and landlord will blame and accuse tenants for any maintenance issues. Trying to get things fixed is always torture. - Landlord is extremely rude to the point of verbal abuse and even retaliatory when asked to make repairs. Makes for a very hostile environment. -Landlord tried to raise rent 25% with 4 days notice, and then "compromised" on a 20% raise ($450). This happened with other tenants too. - Heat is regularly below 68 degrees in the winter. - Constant garbage accumulation.
