Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 14 Spencer Court in Brooklyn highlight its well-maintained units, modern design, strong water pressure, effective heating, and appealing rooftop with city views. Tenants appreciate the quiet environment and friendly neighbors. However, management responsiveness receives mixed feedback, with some renters reporting difficulties in communication and occasional neglect until issues escalate. The lack of an elevator and concerns about basement safety due to homeless presence are noted drawbacks. While the building offers solid amenities and location benefits, prospective renters should be prepared for potential management challenges and maintenance communication delays.

Decent apartment, poor management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Unit recently renovated. Repairs were made by the landlord when needed.
Cons:
Laundry room was dank and moldy, sometimes homeless people sheltered near the basement door exiting out to the street (underneath the main staircase to enter the building).
Landlord had poor communication and tried to cheat me out of my security deposit. I eventually got the whole thing back, but it was an unpleasant saga that involved me having to go to his office to confront him in person.

Decent Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great rooftop with city view, great location, modern, nice details
Cons:
No elevator, if you are a woman the landlord can be a bit difficult. Was unresponsive for weeks on a simple maintenance issue and once I got a hold of the management company, I was talked over.
Advice to owner:
Just be responsive to emails and be polite to men and women
