Pros:
Laundry and storage for each floor in the basement. Garbage gets picked up promptly. No issues with mice or roaches while I was there. Each floor is an apt, and you get to know your neighbors in passing. Quieter in comparison to the rest of the neighborhood; family feel, although there's definitely music blasting sometimes. I would've stayed in the building if it weren't for my insufferable roommates.
Cons:
Landlord sometimes needs convincing to fix things around the apt, but he eventually sends someone. Annoying, but I guess I dealt with worse. Backyard area for building use isn't well maintained, but it still gets used. Basement area could be cleaner, as it's full of dust and spiders.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to things needing to be fixed in the apt. Less preferential treatment in responsiveness to tenants - everyone should be heard. I haven't faced this myself, but older tenants have complained about this.
