STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!

Pros

The super, porters, and front door man keep this place running. The rooftop is nice.

The management company that runs this place is comprised of completely inhumane people. The broker is also a piece of work. She is manipulative and does not disclose material facts about each unit. Stay far away from this place. There are roaches and dog poop in the building's hallways.

Why are people moving out? Ive been seeing a few units opening up for rentals,

People are moving out because if you're paying market-rate rent then you're NOT getting value for your money. (Are you anywhere in NYC?) In just this past week, the boiler broke down and one of the elevators broke down. Did we hear from management about these inconveniences? We did hear in advance that "maintenance" was being done on the boiler until 4+ hours AFTER started circulating emails about the status of the hot water in their apartment and management had been blasted about their poor communications skills. (N.B. Maintenance is in quotes because it was a flat out lie by the building manager. The boiler broke down.) We've never heard a reason as to my the elevator was out, even though it was not working for over 13 hours, and we never received a notification from management that it was working again.

we moved out because our apartment was flooding every time it rained. The major leaks began in February and management was impossible to even get ahold of and generally unresponsive to the emergency situation. Some people have stuck it out, some have pursued legal action, with heavy hearts and at a huge financial cost, we decided to move on and leave the home we'd intended to stay in for many more years after 7 months of stress about leaks, mold and general water damage.

If you're already a resident of the building, you should reach out to 275Tenants(@)Gmail The building has a loosely organized group of tenants who try to keep each other informed on some of the issues going on in the building along with Fairstead's mismanagement. To answer your question, there's been facade work being done on the building for well over three years.

idk about the 7th floor, but we just moved out of the 6th floor due to flooding in the apartment since February. The building management was unable to provide a timeline for roof repair and was negligent with ceiling repair as well. Ceiling was falling down in multiple rooms, mold, etc. When it rained outside, it rained inside. Several apartments are now vacated and uninhabitable on floor 6. Flooding in apartments on floor 5 as well apparently.
