Neglected building & tenants
Pros
Great neighborhood with lots of lovely tree lined streets, interesting and kind neighbors on hall street, minimal pests on 1st and 2nd floor.
Cons
Years of building neglect and avoidance of repairs. Horrible rat infestation in the ground floor/under stoop. Ceiling caved in in bathroom due to repeatedly mis-repaired roof leak -- impossible to reach management and contractor to fix it. Trash mismanaged and as a result front yard constantly strewn with tenant trash and junk from contractors -- never picked up. High turnover of tenants in building.
Advice to the owners
Respond to tenants requests for repairs and address the rat and trash problem. Maintain consistent, available contact person for tenants.
