This building needs to be condemned
Pros
It's in a beautiful location. That's it.
Cons
Where do I begin... this building houses 8 (yes, 8!!) "apartments," ranging in rent from $500 - $1200. Before you think that's a good idea, let me be clear: this obviously was a brownstone-esque place that they makeshifted to be 8 apartments. If you live on the ground floor, you do have your own "bathroom" (a small 2x4 room is not a bathroom) and the kitchen on the same level. The other 6 apartments have to share 2 bathrooms and one other kitchen. When I lived there, there were a slew of problems: rats/mice, someone brought back bed bugs, the front door was constantly open due to the roommates never thinking to lock it. There was also a time where the water was shut off around Labor Day, and we went about 10 days without water. When looking to see if we can pay reduced rent, they said that wasn't an option. People come and go in the place, and it's almost borderline unsafe. The other roommates had no respect for the building and it showed: rooting food left in the kitchen, larvae that grew on the ceiling, and of course, rats that came throughout the seasons. The management was unresponsive to all our cries for help and even tried to raise rent! Even when a tenet was trying to leave, they tried to charge them all of these hidden fees, despite never disclosing that. For example, they tried to charge for repainting of the room, which if a tenet has lived there for 4+ years (which they did), that's not something they can charge. Of course they fought back but they are slimey and only want your money I do not recommend living here AT! ALL! Even one time, we had the fire department come by and they said the building was a fire hazard because the stairs could break at any time. Please take your money elsewhere; do not support this building nor the management that could care less about it.
