Landlord will do everything to not help you.
Former Tenant
Pros:
-apartments themselves are clean and pretty quiet with general noise you get from having neighbors.
-water pressure is good
-central ac/heat
-small storage unit in the basement
Cons:
- there’s been multiple break in/burglaries.
-washer and dryer takes quarters.
-garbage gets mysteriously piled up in front of the building (not in bags) and also behind the building, attracting rodents.
-there’s been a couple vermin issues in the apartments - unit infested with cockroaches, building infested with flies, garage area attracting rats, mice in the apartment.
Landlord is rude and will act like you are a burden and not send help to fix issues immediately, especially if it’s over the weekend or a Jewish holiday.
Landlord is unprofessional.
Landlord requires to send rent check by mail.
Landlord will start asking if you are renewing your lease up to a year before.
Advice to owner:
Be kind and professional to your tenants. They are paying to live there and you owe them cleanliness, health and safety.
