It was fine.
Pros
- The neighborhood is amazing. - The AC/heat units are nice. - Water in the shower was reliably hot. - Apartment was overall nice, tiny cute apartments if that’s your thing. - Pretty affordable considering prices around the neighborhood.
Cons
- The front door to the building frequently breaks, packages get stolen - The toilet seat was broken when we moved in and they charged us for it when we moved out - They charged for cleaning and painting which is not the tenant’s responsibility. We left the apartment clean and with all holes in the wall spackled. - The dishwasher was broken when we moved in and the whole time we lived there. It was leaking and didn’t close properly. We knew it had been an issue well before us, because moving in we saw a water stain on the floor where it was leaking. They sent a repairman, but they didn’t actually fix it. - There is only one washer and one dryer for everyone in the building. Not even close to enough. And you have to use quarters for it.
Advice to the owners
Stop charging the tenants unfairly upon moving out. Actually fix things before new tenants move in.
solid choice for the neighborhood
Pros
newly renovated walk up building, haven't had many issues with the apartment. management is sometimes slow to respond, but i've always gotten an answer eventually.
Cons
at times with severe weather, there's been a small bit of water infiltration, but nothing serious.
