DO NOT LIVE HERE- save yourself the mental stress
Pros
The street is friendly and it is a great location.
Cons
The landlord, Michelle, repeatedly entered my apartment without proper notice or emergency cause. On several occasions, she brought her boyfriend along, who looked through my belongings. I eventually installed a camera due to the repeated intrusions. She made baseless accusations- claiming I had stolen light bulbs and even a single brick from the basement. Her behavior was aggressive and confrontational to the point where I felt unsafe entering or exiting the building without recording video for my own protection. When it came time to move out, she threatened to withhold my security deposit for what was clearly natural wear and tear. Michelle was verbally abusive and vindictive. No tenant should have to tolerate that kind of treatment. I strongly caution anyone considering this property, do not live here. NYC should forbid her from being a landlord. Dont walk, RUN AWAY FROM THIS BUILDING.
Advice to the owners
Be kind.
Wonderful Spot, Hellish Landlord
Pros
I love living in 90 S Oxford (for the most part)! It's a really fabulous location, and my apartment is fairly priced. The house itself is gorgeous, and there are some unparalleled options on each floor. The neighbors are quiet and friendly.
Cons
The landlord, Michelle, is the worst landlord I have ever had. She is paranoid and unaccommodating, and she is very untrusting and obtrusive. She also tries to milk residents for money and favors at any opportunity without putting effort into improving the space, despite a number of false promises. Also, she insists that residents only cook vegetarian (which is illegal), and the front door locks from the inside (which is illegal). Finally, Michelle often accuses her residents of not following her (mostly arbitrary) rules.
Advice to the owners
Fix the lock on the front door, please!
