Review Summary for 230 North 5 Street
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 230 North 5 Street, Brooklyn, highlight its desirable location and friendly neighbors as key positives. However, tenants consistently report serious issues including poor cleanliness, pest infestations (rats and cockroaches), inadequate heating, weak water pressure, and flooding—particularly in basement units. Garbage management and owner responsiveness are often rated poorly, with many describing landlord neglect and minimal maintenance efforts. Noise levels are generally acceptable, but overall building upkeep, structural integrity, and pest control require significant improvement. Rent stabilization status is unclear. Prospective renters should weigh the area's appeal against the considerable challenges related to building management and condition.
