The Worst Landlord I've had in New York City
Pros
The room was large.
Cons
Daniel is one of the worst landlords I've ever had. He failed to fix things that were broken, constantly had architects and realtors coming in and out of the building (without warning, he would literally just show up at your door with some random person!) There were also tons of mice and bugs that he did nothing to get rid of. I'm an extremely clean person so this drove me nuts. I went away over night to get out of that absolutely abysmal apartment and came back to mouse droppings all over my clean plates. Daniel blamed my dog. We had huge storms one summer that flooded the basement. This water had human feces in it because it was sewage backup. Daniel tried to avoid getting it properly cleaned until I threatened to find someone and have that man send Daniel the bill. This sewage problem wasn't fixed properly the first time so when we had more huge storms, more feces came rushing into the basement. We lost a lot of stuff that we stored down there. Daniel doesn't care. He's unempathetic. He was an awful landlord to have during covid. I hope to never have to deal with him again. If you're renting in Greenpoint and you see his name on the lease, run!
Advice to the owners
Take responsibility and be an empathetic human. The people that rent are people too and deserve a nice place to live. We pay a lot of money and you virtually have to do nothing.
