Busy street, upgraded apartments
Pros
The apartment was upgraded and was kept clean A patio was part of the space but didn't have good ambience so barely used
Cons
Location on a busy street/truck route made it loud and full of pollution Trash area was disgusting. Found multiple dead rats
Advice to the owners
Be more responsive to issues
Decidedly Mediocre - Only Lasted a Year
Pros
Location, transit access, neighbors, nearby businesses, price (compared to wburg as a whole)
Cons
Street-facing bedrooms are INSANELY NOISY all night due to proximity to BQE ramp. Woken up at 4am by a symphony of tractor-trailers several times a month. No laundry in building (although laundromat across the street is great) Management tried to keep my security deposit because "I didn't give sufficient notice that I wouldn't be renewing the lease" despite the fact that the lease had a clear end date and I gave no indication I wanted to re-sign. They eventually repaid me. To that end--faceless corporate property management, no idea who I'm interacting with when submitting maintenance requests or negotiating lease terms. Bad communication, felt like yelling into a void. Now paying less for more space in a cooler area with same L train access and a local landlord who I speak with often in Bushwick and am much happier.
Advice to the owners
Be more communicative, soundproof street facing windows better, stop trying to steal peoples' security deposits over technicalities.
