Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews for 524 METROPOLITAN AVENUE highlight upgraded apartments, cleanliness, and great water pressure as positives. However, concerns include noisy surroundings, ineffective garbage management, and issues with pests. Some renters mentioned dissatisfaction with unresponsive owners and noisy neighbors. Suggestions were made to improve communication, address noise issues, and enhance security measures. Despite these drawbacks, the convenient location and modern amenities attract tenants, although the high turnover rate and noise levels impact overall satisfaction.

Busy street, upgraded apartments
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartment was upgraded and was kept clean A patio was part of the space but didn't have good ambience so barely used
Cons:
Location on a busy street/truck route made it loud and full of pollution Trash area was disgusting. Found multiple dead rats
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to issues

Decidedly Mediocre - Only Lasted a Year
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, transit access, neighbors, nearby businesses, price (compared to wburg as a whole)
Cons:
Street-facing bedrooms are INSANELY NOISY all night due to proximity to BQE ramp. Woken up at 4am by a symphony of tractor-trailers several times a month.
No laundry in building (although laundromat across the street is great)
Management tried to keep my security deposit because "I didn't give sufficient notice that I wouldn't be renewing the lease" despite the fact that the lease had a clear end date and I gave no indication I wanted to re-sign. They eventually repaid me.
To that end--faceless corporate property management, no idea who I'm interacting with when submitting maintenance requests or negotiating lease terms. Bad communication, felt like yelling into a void.
Now paying less for more space in a cooler area with same L train access and a local landlord who I speak with often in Bushwick and am much happier.
Advice to owner:
Be more communicative, soundproof street facing windows better, stop trying to steal peoples' security deposits over technicalities.
