Extreme Negligence Endangers Tenants
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighborhood is very nice, loved our neighbors.
Cons:
The management is nearly criminally negligent to the point of endangering the well being of the tenants. Management is impossible to reach. Building is extremely poorly constructed. Tons of water damage and mold. Landlord is extremely rude to women. Management ignored when tenants pointed out mold (which made at least one tenant ill) for more than 2 months. We had a health inspector confirm there was dangerous mold in several parts of the apartment which still hasn't been resolved as of writing this. Landlord refused to bring in professional cleanup crew after the building flooded leading to further damages. Neighbors reported pest infestations for months that as of writing this still hasn't been resolved. The building is so poorly maintained that paint is literally peeling off the walls from water damage, laundry room is unusable due to mold. They do not care about the well being of tenants. Avoid at all costs.
Advice to owner:
Quit your job. Sell the building to somebody who cares about the health of tenants.

Negligent Owners and Unsafe Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighbors were awesome and the building is conveniently located close to the L train.
Cons:
The landlords are negligent, particularly rude to women, and cut corners on the building construction and maintenance, putting the apartments and the building in deplorable condition. Our apartment was not ready on our move-in date, so they rushed the renovation. Not only were minor aesthetics like poorly installed light switch covers and an unfinished stair tread an issue; they neglected to fix the leaking problems in the cellar and did not want to pay for the necessary repair to reinforce the cellar waters from moisture. The result was a persistent flooding and mold problem that caused us to call the health inspector. Other neighbors also reported roof leaks and mold, none of which was addressed in a timely manner. We could never reach our landlords unless it was to confirm they received our money. For repairs, they would screen calls and e-mails and then decline to take responsibility for the neglected and dangerous state of their building. Several people reported illness and discomfort as a result of living there.
Advice to owner:
Don’t own property. You don’t care for your tenants and put them at enormous risk.
