Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 248 Mckibbin St, Brooklyn reveal a building with notable high ceilings, spacious lofts, and a popular rooftop space, attracting a young, social community. However, persistent issues include thin walls causing severe noise disturbances from frequent parties, pest infestations, and inconsistent heating and water service. Garbage management and overall cleanliness are often deemed inadequate. While some tenants praise the friendly live-in super and community vibe, many criticize management's unresponsiveness, neglect of repairs, and exploitative practices like steep rent hikes. The building suits those seeking an energetic, communal lifestyle but is less ideal for renters valuing quiet, cleanliness, and professional management.

Leaving after 3 years
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, community. Live-in super is extremely friendly and helpful! Elevator is convenient (but not wheelchair accessible). High ceilings and good light.
Cons:
Leaving after three years due to unreasonably high rent increase for no greater value in quality of life. In building laundry unmaintained and always breaks (price increase as well...), bad garbage management, loud parties almost every night, noise level unmanageable with thin walls.

The worst place I ever lived
Former Tenant
Pros:
The roof. That’s it.
Cons:
Outdated apartments because tenants have been there for years and refuse to leave so management can renovate. Paper thin walls. Illegal subleasing, constant parties on the roof.
Advice to owner:
Nothing.
