Deceitful management and ill maintained property

Pros:
The unit itself is spacious and has a lot of potential, if it were better managed by the building.
Cons:
The management has intentionally lied about the status of this building regarding the Good Cause Eviciton law, was formerly a rent stabilized building but the owner never formally deregulated the building through DHCR and has not provided any proof of deregulation, violated our lease rider of repair or pest control within 7 days of notice within the first two weeks of our lease, management is difficult to communicate with and will make inaccurate statements until they are pointed out (in which case, they redirect attempting to cover their tracks). Horrible property management and maintenance, both in our individual unit, as well as the common areas of the building.

Pros:
Units are spacious, back rooms overlook a nice backyard, reasonably quiet
Cons:
There must be hundreds of rats in and around this building, they eat through the garbage so every single time you come home you’ll be greeted by at least 10 rats scurrying away. Sometimes they’ll jump out of the garbage at you, my roommate was scratched by one the other night.
