Trust the reviews. Decrepit building, awful landlord.
Pros
The location, but the location alone did not make living in this place worth it.
Cons
This building is a slum. It is physically crumbling. There are cracks in the walls and ceilings, and paint peeling in the halls and units. There were rats living in the walls on the ground floor and tunneling under the basement from 2021-2024 (the floor down there was literal dirt). The halls do not get cleaned. The bathrooms are not water sealed, and there is mold in them. You will pay hundreds in utilities each month - heat and hot water are not included - and during the winter, you pay for the gas that heats forced hot water baseboard heating, which doesn't work well and has not been updated in decades. You may request repairs, but they will not be completed. A window in my bedroom was rotting out of the wall for almost two years with no fix despite repeated requests. A slightly lower rent than what is average for the area does not make up for the hell that you will endure living here. The heat is insufficient (below 60 degrees inside upwards of 15 times per year for the several years that I lived here), and the landlord's response to the heat being insufficient was "It's not my fault it's cold outside. There's nothing I can do about it." He then attempted to illegally evict me in response to my filing a 311 complaint. He received 9 housing violations as a result, NOT including the heat issue, which I can assure you has persisted. Live anywhere else.
This landlord is evil
Pros
The location was great
Cons
This landlord is literally evil. She refuses to fix anything wrong. The building is literally falling down.
