Space but at what cost
Former Tenant
Pros:
I love the area that the building is in. Plenty of great food and nightlife around as well as very easy access to L and JM trains.
Cons:
In the winter your electricity bill is crazy high because this building is so so poorly insulated. It is a very old building and never really feels truly clean. We lived on the first floor and had a good amount of mice problems that the management was not eager to help with. The backyard is nice, but as soon as it gets warm enough outside to use it, it becomes infested with mosquitoes that won't let you stay outside for more than about 5 minutes without being eaten alive.

Slumlord Building Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Location -Spacious Apartment -Very nice backyard -Great neighbors
Cons:
-Management is unresponsive. Never was able to get in touch with anyone over the phone and it would take weeks to get someone to reply to an email -Heat did not work all winter -had multiple leaks to the point that it was raining from my ceiling
Advice to owner:
-Be more responsive to you tenants -Replace the heating system like the electrician suggested

CCM doesn’t care about tenants
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is superb and some units managed to scrape good, classic NY details. Laundry in the basement is credit card-operated …but they keep raising the price.
Cons:
Major leaks in the basement and in several units that get a half-ass glue job and repainted. Unit doors don’t have spyholes, units don’t have ventilation system in the bathroom which leads to mold.
Advice to owner:
It’s your job to manage the 700+ units you boast while saying it’s impossible to keep track of them. It’s not tenants’ fault your focus is solely on acquisition and not on providing safe and functional housing. The issues your tenants report to you are structural and it’s evil to “fix” with a bandaid.
