Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Reviews for 840 Hart Street reveal serious issues overshadowing its solid structure and some appealing features like a good layout and backyard. Tenants consistently report extreme noise, disrespectful neighbors, and poor cleanliness. Pest control is a major concern with recurring roach infestations and dismissive landlord responses. Renovations are criticized for poor quality, with unfinished trims and cheap fixtures. Heating and water pressure vary, often inadequate. While garbage management is acceptable at times, overall maintenance and owner responsiveness lag, leading to widespread dissatisfaction. Rent prices feel unjustified given the neglected conditions and lack of modern amenities, deterring many from recommending this building.

Tin can overpriced by a slumlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Basically nothing. they are good about the garbage for the most part and the super is nice and does what he can. Haven’t had any pests since being here even though I heard it used to be an issue.
Cons:
Price gouging for no amenities Disgustingly dirty We moved in and every single thing was broken and not fixed SO LOUD - you hear every single noise within the building No option to pay rent electronically, or even in separate checks if you have a roommate Door buzzing system does not work - you need to manually go to the door to let anyone in Everything in the apartment is so cheap it looks like it was made by an elementary schooler for a school project Tenants are dysfunctional, loud, and inconsiderate. One, Kelly, who does not have a job and lives off the government, spends all day smoking cigarettes. often in the hallways. Slamming doors and yelling at all hours of the night (they’re not even young people either). Perpetually screaming child living upstairs. They also throw parties with randoms on the porch when it’s warm, all night Shower water is only ranges from cold to slightly hot. This slightly hot water runs out after 7 mins Entire street is extremely sketchy
Advice to owner:
Clean the units. Stop charging so much and exploiting people. Actually use modern technology. If the building is going to be a piece of garbage you can at least price it cheaply.

Old building with an awful renovation job.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The bones of the building are solid, exposed brick and such.
Cons:
Where do I start. You can hear everything outside and this section of hart st is extremely loud and active. Third floor neighbors are disrespectful and have lived there for 10 years all while trashing the place so they feel no need to be kind to new tenants. There are cockroaches, had to spend hours filling all the holes in my unit to mitigate this. The owner did an awful job whenever they renovated the place a handful of years back. Walls aren’t level, trim is unfinished, random pieces of the wall trim are just missing. All wood used as trim is scrap or some sort of ply wood.
