Unresponsive Owner/Management

Pros:
Great neighborhood and close to subway.
Cons:
Unresponsive owner/management. Once the electricity went out and we couldn’t access the circuit breakers because they were locked in the basement. Management couldn’t be reached for days. My roommates and I ended up staying with friends (since there was no power and we needed to work from home) and when the landlord finally came around he screamed at us for not being home (even though we had no idea when he would show).

Needs better management

Pros:
Friendly neighbors. Location is prime. 2 bathrooms is always a plus, and one of the rooms is huge
Cons:
Management kinda sucks, will harras you about paying even if you've already paid, and will only reply to you when it's convenient for them.
Black mold found in at least 2 units, rats in walls, roaches coming out of the electric outlets, there's a couple of leaks the owner hasn't fixed since last year.
No washer or dryer in unit, fridge isn't full size and kitchen is small.
Heat sometimes doesn't work during the winter and owner will justify it by saying you haven't paid rent (even if you have).
Advice to owner:
Management needs to take better care of the building and respond to tenants' concerns in a timely manner.
