Review Summary for 1075 Greene Avenue
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews for 1075 GREENE AVENUE in Brooklyn praise the convenient location near amenities and transportation. However, issues with management changes, rent increases, and pest problems have been noted. Maintenance delays, lack of cleanliness, and unresponsive management are key concerns raised by residents. Despite some positives like good neighbors and water pressure, unresolved repairs, safety hazards, and communication gaps have led to dissatisfaction among tenants. Suggestions include improving maintenance responsiveness, addressing safety hazards promptly, and enhancing communication with tenants to improve overall living experience in the building.

Good for the most part

Pros:
The location is amazing! Close to grocery stores, markets, restaurants and trains. My unit was nice and updated with a wine fridge! The super was great and would get things done quickly.
Cons:
The management company changed and increased the rent by 65% which is the reason we moved out. We also had a rat sneak its way into our apartment. Thankfully our cats eventually trapped it where we could get rid of it.

endless repair needs

Pros:
super cute apartment with great light and nice amount of storage space.
Cons:
Following the submission of our payment, we encountered a lack of response. Regrettably, upon moving in, our apartment was not cleaned. Additionally, all the appliances in our residence required repairs or servicing before use. Over the past 8 months, we have faced a series of challenges, with management opting for temporary fixes instead of implementing permanent solutions. Notably, we endured almost 2 months without a functional oven. Each time we shut the oven door, the electricity in our apartment would fail, and there was a delay in rectifying the situation. Despite the dispatch of two individuals who purported to be licensed electricians, it was later revealed that they lacked the necessary credentials. Their explanation attributing the issue to excessive electricity consumption was not accurate. Subsequently, when authorities compelled management to address the oven's malfunction, it was discovered that our safety was compromised due to potential fire hazards stemming from outdated breakers and inadequate grounding wiring. This posed a severe risk, particularly considering that the room in question served as a fire exit route. Furthermore, enduring nearly two weeks without water in our kitchen due to a maintenance request pertaining to the faulty ice maker of the refrigerator, which caused water leakage and mold accumulation, proved to be an inconvenience. The replacement of the refrigerator with a refurbished unit has introduced a new challenge, as it emits disruptive sounds every 3 hours.. repair still pending. The persistent issue with the dryer's door not closing necessitated multiple drying cycles per load or resorting to air-drying. Despite being a relatively straightforward repair, it took approximately three weeks to address after lodging a request. The presence of continuous water leaks from the roof during rainy weather, affecting two separate rooms, remains unaddressed. Notably, one of the leaks even penetrates an electrical ceiling light socket, a concerning safety hazard that requires immediate attention. Our experience has been characterized by ongoing maintenance issues, exacerbated by the lack of communication regarding repair requests and unresponsiveness from management. Despite the breach of contractual obligations, no compensatory measures have been offered. The unregistered status of the building has posed challenges in reporting the issues to the Better Business Bureau. Incidents of package theft and missing communal property, have been reported, with neighbors suggesting that such occurrences are commonplace. Despite attempts to contact Corsair's supervisor/manager (and the property owner), no responses have been received.
Advice to owner:
I would like to emphasize the recurring challenges we have faced with appliance maintenance in the apartment. Despite numerous requests, including those detailed in our previous communications above, many issues still remain unresolved. The level of service provided by Corsair has fallen quite short of our expectations, making this property management experience the most challenging in my two decades of renting. I urge Corsair employees to review its service standards and commitments to its tenants to ensure a more satisfactory experience moving forward.  The many neighbors I have spoken with would also agree.
