Neglected nightmare tenement
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is convenient; 5 minutes to the M and 15 to the L. Layout seems promising until you get your stuff in there and realize nothing fits.
Cons:
Do not fall for the convenience. They offered laundry in building but it's practically inaccessible in building and always broken/filled with disgusting forgotten laundry that inconsiderate neighbors leave in there for days and it smells. Not to mention there is only one washer/dryer for six units. The basement is always dirty and dark and nobody cares that it could be a potential hazard. The heat was pointless because some of the windows were broken and the door had a 1/2" gap at the bottom so all the heat left the house. Same with the central AC that was broken for weeks during the heatwave and the LL couldn't be bothered to come look at it. Walls are super thin and you can hear everything going on (there are children on the 2nd floor and they scream and run at all hours) so between insulation and noise it is completely inefficient. Landlord is negligent and only cares about making money/not spending more to fix things. We explicitly made requests for maintenance and repairs on our lease that were ignored entirely (e.g., asked for a new faucet since it was broken and the water pressure was bad and he said it was too expensive). The lock on our door literally came off one day, and when we moved in they didn't care to plaster and paint after the old tenants. Basically this is a cash crop for the landlord who doesn't care how his tenants are living as long as he's getting money.
Advice to owner:
Please reconsider the "amenities" because they are barely functional and are not what was advertised.
